Yesterday, I transferred a Microsoft excel file from my Windows laptop to my Macbook Pro so I can continue working on it on the Macbook. Unfortunately, I couldn’t open the excel xlsx file because there wasn’t any compatible application on the Macbook that can open it.
After disturbing google, I discovered that OpenOffice for Mac can open excel files that are saved in xlsx format. I downloaded and installed it on my Macbook Pro and I now use it create and edit Excel files.

When double clicked it this is the message I received.
